Apply for a Grant

Charity grants play a vital role in supporting communities, organisations, and individuals by providing financial assistance to achieve specific goals or address particular needs. These grants can range from supporting community projects, enhancing local infrastructure, to aiding individuals facing financial hardships. The William Marshall Charity, which has been a cornerstone of the Parish of Welney in Norfolk, United Kingdom, for over 360 years, serves as a prime example of how charity grants can benefit both individuals and groups within a community.

Individual Grants

The charity is able to help Welney residents by giving cash grants to those experiencing disadvantage and hardship. Grants can only be made to individuals in need. Please note that this funding replaces what is previously known as the Poor Widow’s Grant.

Please do advise us if you are receiving help or support from a third party charity or agency and would benefit from a collaboration with the charity.

Groups and Organisations Grants

The charity is able to make grants to charities and organisations supporting the relief of financial hardship or disadvantage of residents.

Furthermore, it is able to make grants to for charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Welney.
